The idea for this event emerged in September 2021 from professional wingfoil sportswoman and engineer Flora Artzner. Supported by many professional riders, she decides to create at home in April 2022 a festive, egalitarian and environmentally friendly wingfoil event with values that are dear to her.

She then created the Ecowave association, which aims to link environment, sport, equality and inclusion and obtained the support of Villa Rocabella and institutional, private and associative partners to create an event from scratch on the mythical spot of the 'Almanarre, in Hyères in the south-east of France. It is a huge success that will host this first edition from April 7 to 10, 2022, in the presence of the world's best athletes in the discipline, on a beach full of people, in the presence of many associations, brands and beautiful local initiatives.
